Sclerotherapy

Are veins on your face or body visible, unsightly, and bothering you about your appearance? Sclerotherapy treatments can make your veins less visible, and even make them disappear!
Although most Americans do not have a major circulatory disorder, visible veins that appear as we age can give the impression of poor health. Over 80 million Americans have some type of venous disorder, but about 80% are merely cosmetic in nature and show up visibly on our skin. Women are three times more likely than men to develop varicose veins. The primary reason that unwanted veins appear is due to heredity. Other factors contributing to the onset of unwanted veins are work related (such as standing for long periods of time), pregnancy, and injury or trauma to the immediate area where these veins have become visible.
There are many misconceptions concerning the elimination of unsightly leg veins because of the way unwanted veins were treated in the past. Surface veins, such as spider veins, are similar to sponges – they collect and drain into our body’s deeper vein channels. This passive collection network is redundant, so even when damaged (removed) they are not essential to the circulation of the blood in the legs or facial areas. These veins can be safely eliminated. With the advent of new sclerosing agents (that create an enzymatic reaction to destroy unwanted veins) the procedure of getting rid of your unsightly veins has been greatly enhanced. This clearance procedure has been dramatically perfected and improved from traditional methods that were in use only a few years ago.

Spider veins and other small veins’ appearance on the face or body (telangectasias) are now easily treated – painlessly and effectively. Clearance of your unsightly veins is easily achieved in one to three sessions. We offer laser solutions for face and leg spider veins with great results.

In the past couple years there have been tremendous improvements in the way we treat unwanted spider and reticular veins in the legs and on the face. The types of treatment are similar but improvements to injectable sclerosing agents – and the options and improvements of YAG lasers and IPL (Intense Pulse Light) laser treatments are more effective than ever before – and also less painful to the patient.
New detergent sclerosing agents have replaced hypertonic saline as the choice to eliminate spider veins and reticular veins by injection. These newer agents also have an anesthetic effect so the patient is more comfortable during and after the procedure. Adverse effects have virtually been eliminated and these newer agents are much more effective in starving the vein of protein and collapsing and eliminating these veins quickly.
YAG Lasers are the industry standard for treating unsightly veins and allow for larger spot areas to be treated, which saves time and allows for variation of treatments for stubborn or non-responsive veins. The results are real, long lasting and affordable.
